Launched in 2007, Sano Paila's flagship program, Action Against Addiction & Crime (AAC), is a community-based initiative serving youth and others affected by substance abuse and criminal behavior in Madhesh Province, including cross-border districts where these issues are particularly severe. Through residential treatment and rehabilitation centers, known as the School of Recovery and Restoration (SRR), Sano Paila provides awareness, treatment, rehabilitation, counseling, and support services, including the promotion of crime prevention behaviors among at-risk youth. The SRR, run by former drug users and ex-convicts, is one of Nepal's pioneering community-based rehabilitation centers. The program has successfully reformed over 3,500 individuals with histories of substance abuse and criminal behavior.
