Strengthening Nutrition Governance through MSNP-III

October 29, 2025

In the last week of Ashoj, Sano Paila participated in the Capacity-Building Workshop of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for Nutrition Governance on the Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan (MSNP)-III held in Janakpur. The workshop aimed to raise awareness and equip CSOs with the technical knowledge and skills necessary for the effective implementation of MSNP-III activities in Madhesh Province.

Organized under the Equitable and Inclusive Nutrition Actions for Better Governance Leveraging Engagement of Civil Society Organizations (ENABLE) project, the sessions were led by Action Against Hunger (ACF), Nepal Technical Assistance Group (NTAG), and officials from the federal ministries. The facilitators highlighted the significance of MSNP-III in addressing the root causes of malnutrition and emphasized the transformative impact the initiative can create in the long run.

The Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan (MSNP) aims to reduce malnutrition among women and children by addressing its underlying and basic causes through coordinated actions across multiple sectors, including health, agriculture, education, and WASH. As a pioneer initiative, MSNP-III seeks to bridge nutrition gaps across regions, particularly focusing on inclusivity and equitable access to nutrition services.

Among the 80 CSOs working for nutrition in Madhesh, 21 organizations, including Sano Paila, were selected to participate in the workshop. As part of this cohort, Sano Paila stands alongside ACF, NTAG, and the Government of Nepal to ensure that MSNP-III activities are effectively executed and made accessible to those most in need within our areas of operation and beyond.

Sano Paila is a people’s campaign. Empowering Communities, Inspiring Tomorrow.
